The plain paper fan in Naoya's hand switched to and fro almost obsessively, serving as perhaps the only outward sign of the holder's oddly uneasy state during the - admittedly uneventful - trek through forest, forest, bog, forest, and... more forest. Demon territory was not exactly at the top of the list of places Naoya wanted to be right now, but a pilgrimage to Ise had been in order for a very long time, and there was no way he was going to let a silly war infringe on his shortage of ofuda.
And sweets! his mind chirped as he skittered along, his pace quickening despite the thoroughly uncomfortable geta attached to his feet. He hummed quietly to himself, offhandedly registering the way the sun looked almost close enough to burn the trees on the horizon. The coffer slung over his shoulder hung awkwardly as an effect of the formless silk of the haori, but a second's worth of readjusting made his stroll a little more easy. Not that it contained much to be lost if he dropped it, anyway, but he liked the design and would probably be upset if it went missing.
"Temari wo tsukimashou, manmaru temari..." he sang, sliding his fan away and procuring a Cat's Cradle from his sleeve. The journey from Kai to Ise would probably take longer than would be worth the overall gain of spell tags, but for now, it was enough to keep him going.

Yoshi made his way through demon territory in a reasonably good mood. He didn't need his network of bandages hiding his foreign appearance and he could try out how well his ember and bandage tricks to see how well he has mimicked real demon sorcery. His flaming red hair and Caucasian skin tone bared to the world from the neck up. His eyes were always to wide was the complaint he got from most children years ago but in demon territory it doesn't matter. 'Nothing but monsters and humans to stupid to be a client of mine.' He thought, his hand on the hilt of his sword at all times. One must be careful here in "demon land". In the distance Yoshi saw a figure not to sure what sex it was and not really giving a damn this was his alone time. His longer and quicker strides would eventually catch up to the figure Yoshi only muttering a very brief "Excuse me." as he passed if the figure wanted company then fine but Yoshi wasn't going to stick his neck out.

Naoya tapped the (newly brought out) fan closed and rested the tip against his cheek, looking faintly displeased for the seconds before the shock of seeing an entire headful of flaming red hair had time to set in. He blinked, a blank expression fixing itself onto his face as he tried to assess the situation... that was not something one saw every day, no matter how many demons you thought you knew in your lifetime.
Still, the lack of propriety had been ghastly! How dare he not even try a civil salutation? His inner prude, the part of him that was scandalized at this gross breach of etiquette, was warring harshly with his inner child, who was undoubtedly going to say something candid and blatantly obvious if he didn't shut himself up.
He settled for a happy medium, scoffing delicately and managing a pout as he halted and stared accusatively at the figure walking on.
"Excuse you!" Said he, his voice reflecting the coquettishly mean-spirited merging of both the Prude and the Child. "Foreigner. Must I assume you're one of the demons' marionettes? You don't walk like one of them, so you certainly don't live here." He managed a wry, sure smile at the insult - the man probably wouldn't get the irony, but Naoya didn't particularly care.

Yoshi tensed visibly at the word foreigner the rest he didn't quite catch. The rest didn't matter though being calledthat word often make Yoshi irrational. Turning on his heel he was now directly in front of the man. "My name is Arinori Arihyoshi you call me anything else and you eat steel." he said clearly and directly not wasting time with an intimidating stance or whatnot. Turing around he continued his pleasant little vacation away from his bandages.
(sorry about the short posts not really sure what to put out ya know?)

((Heh, s'okay.))
Naoya sped up, puffing his cheeks out annoyedly and moving to keep himself abreast of Yoshi. This task proved to be a little harder than normal, considering Naoya couldn't compete with the stranger's long paces; he looked pensively up at Yoshi, having to scuttle faster at intervals of three steps to every one of his, and 'hmmed.'
"You didn't answer my question, Arinori Arihyoshi." He smiled maliciously behind the fan clasped in his hand, eyes narrowed, but not in a threatening way. "Demon, or no?"

Yoshi stopped once more and turned to the man. Shrugging he took a few steps back. "I'll let you be the judge of that." He said indifferently as he extended his right arm, palm facing the traveler. "Would this classify as demonic kid be honest now!" He teased happy to find somebody he could ask about his little trick. Spreading apart his fingers for effect, he twitched his thumb slightly setting off the ember placed amongst the bandages. A short burst of flames rocketed out of his palm extending a mere foot and extinguishing just as quick as it came. The bandages covering his palm was now scorched but payed no mind. "That answer your question?" He inquired hoping it was convincing enough then maybe he could play off the role of "demon" rather than "foreigner".

(Man I'm not doing well with length today..)

((lmao. So long as there's something to reply to, length doesn't really matter o_o;))
Naoya's breath seized sharply as Yoshi turned to him and expelled the burst of combustive energy, and reflexively took a step back. Expecting some sort of grand execution attempt, his hands shot to pull the roll of ofuda out of his obi almost instantly, two already held precariously between the index and middle fingers of his right hand.
...But nothing happened.
He blinked again and then looked guiltily down at the ofuda in his hands, managing a sheepish smile before he shoved it away again.
"Ah... impressive, most assuredly." He smiled like the cat who got into the cream, suddenly at ease. "Well, Arinori Arihyoshi, since you failed to properly introduce yourself, I demand that you escort me to Ise! I very well can't be bothered to hire a guard, especially in demon country. Although..." The smile grew malicious again, but any outward signs were smothered by the fan at his lips. "...you seem like a loner."

'Who the hell does this guy think he is?' Thought Yoshi perplexed he expected the traveler to either walk away or chuck a rosary at him not ask no... demand an escort. "You got some nerve you no that? I'm heading that way to find some work I wont escort you but i will slow my pace and kill a demon trying to maul your face off." He said still not putting much feeling behind his words. Yoshi turned around once again and began walking slower this time. Grasping the loose bandages around his neck he began to fasten them around his head once more to hide is ethnicity. 'A human and demon don't travel together so it's burn victim Yoshi on my damned vacation.' He though bitterly all the while finishing up with the bandages and moving to smear some of the ash from his scorched bandages around his eyes where the skin was exposed. Yoshi would continue to walk in silence figuring if his "companion" wanted to talk he would surely let him know. His posture slumping ever so slightly he sighed. His vacation was over already.

Naoya rolled his eyes, waving away the indiscretion with a relaxed gesture and speeding to catch up with Yoshi again.
"But I wanna taa~aaalk! I haven't seen anyone for days," He whined, taking Yoshi's arm and clinging to it with a stone grip. "Nee, how come you're covering yourself? That doesn't look comfortable..."
Pursing his lips, Naoya extracted himself from Yoshi, leaning up and prodding at the bandages covering the other man's face with a bold index finger. The sudden slump of his new companion's posture was hard to mistake, even to the otherwise oblivious Naoya.
"Is that bad? Does your skin hurt or something?" He blinked, cocking his head to the side quizzically. "Eeto... oh, right! I'm Naoya." A bright smile sprang onto his face as he extended his hand, figuring it'd be best to get off on the right foot if they were going to be travelling together.
